TURVAL PROBIOTICS – A NATURAL CHOICE
After devoting years to research, development and experimentation, Turval Laboratories, through a patented biotechnological process of lactic fermentation, has created and is pleased to introduce, a truly innovative intestinal bio-regulator. In its labs, Turval was able to single out and genetically type a particular strain of yeast labeled Kluyveromyces marxianus B0399®. Kluyveromyces B0399® has the unique capability of demolishing lactose by means of the beta-galactosidase enzyme thus producing lactic acid, a fundamental substance in cellular metabolic activity.
WHEN TO USE TURVAL
Horses are exposed to a variety of stressful events that may cause health problems. Turval 6 Horse Daily can aid in the prevention, and supports the treatment of, some of the more common maladies.
For Colic
Gastrointestinal upset can be caused by a number of factors including nutritional stress, change of diet and high starch. These factors negatively affect normal gastro-intestinal micro flora and may result in acute or chronic Colic. Administering Turval on a daily basis creates GI homeostasis and microbial stability.
While Performing, Showing and Traveling
While traveling, performing and showing, horses can be under extreme stress and exposed to many adverse conditions. Feed and pasture changes can further complicate the situation leading to poor food intake and weight loss. Turval promotes a healthy balance of intestinal micro-organisms, helps to maintain feed intake, and aids in the rapid recovery of athletic performance.
During and After Antibiotic Therapy
Antibiotics can destroy pathogenic microorganisms as well as the beneficial bacteria normally found in an animal’s digestive tract. Turval yeast has an elevated antibiotic resistance and can be used before and after antibiotic therapy to help maintain digestive homeostasis.
During Periods of Environmental Stress
Weather changes and extremes (heat and cold), can result in reduced feed intake and weight loss while putting extraordinary demands on an animals’ metabolism. Supplement Turval during these periods to help maintain appetite and maximize the absorption of nutrients.
During Incidences of Diarrhea
Neonatal foals often experience intestinal upset, most often beginning around the sixth or seventh day of life. Incidents of foal heat diarrhea can become lengthy and severe, resulting in poor overall growth and development. Use Turval at lower ration levels to help control the length and severity of this diarrhea. Additionally, most horses develop digestive upset at some point in their life, frequently brought on by an increase in potentially pathogenic bacteria. Use Turval feed supplements to reinitiate healthy microbial balance in the intestinal tract.
At Weaning and During Other Diet Changes
At weaning a young horse’s digestive system may not be fully developed. Changing from a milk based to a plant based diet can be problematic. Furthermore, an immature stomach can be easily overfilled, causing stomach and intestinal pH to rise, resulting in an environment where potential pathogens can grow. These young horses are subject to further stresses such as vaccination and gelding. Use Turval to metabolically lower pH, maintain feed intake and promote weight gain during this early stage of life.
